Course Overview

This comprehensive one-day training program is designed for law enforcement snipers and marksmen who need to develop expertise in maintaining, inspecting, and servicing their bolt-action rifles. The curriculum is taught by FBI and NRA Certified Instructors and follows manufacturer guidelines to ensure proper care and repair of these critical weapon systems.

Rifle Systems Covered

The course provides dedicated instruction and tooling for Remington 700, Savage 10/110, Winchester/FN 70 series, Tikka, Sako, and Ruger platforms. Officers are encouraged to bring alternative brands such as Steyr, Bergara, Sig Sauer, CZ, and custom builds for instruction, and should coordinate in advance regarding any replacement parts needed.

Course Content

Topics covered include weapon history and cycles of function, armorer-level disassembly and reassembly procedures, identification of common problems and components, nomenclature of group components, inspection of stocks (traditional, synthetic, and SOPMOD styles), pillars and bedding, barrel inspection and potential issues, parts interchangeability across brands, headspace verification, firing pin protrusion measurement, trigger cleaning and replacement, chamber inspections, accessories and customization options, scope base mounting techniques, scope ring truing and lapping procedures, and cleaning and maintenance best practices.

Hands-On Training

This intensive course emphasizes practical experience. Students will disassemble and repair actions, learn proper action torquing techniques, verify extraction and ejection function, and complete a thorough inspection and maintenance of their own rifles to ensure top working condition. The course provides all necessary tools, manuals, and materials, with participants responsible for bringing their own weapon systems to become familiar with their specific configurations and modifications.
