Topics and Skills Instruction

The course curriculum includes fundamental armoring techniques such as field stripping, complete disassembly and reassembly procedures, headspace measurement, and wear inspections. Students will master the operation and cycles of function for each weapon system, as well as detailed work on trigger group assemblies.

Additional topics covered include barrel maintenance and repair, forend assembly and action bar operation, bolt assembly components including extractors and firing pins, flex tab assemblies, ejector maintenance and replacement, magazine tube service and repair, and shell latch adjustments. Hookspace and stem adjustment procedures are also included in the comprehensive curriculum.

Course Requirements

All necessary tools, manuals, and instructional materials are provided by the training organization. Students must bring their own shotgun systems to become proficient with their specific configurations and modifications. This personal weapon requirement enables thorough cleaning, inspection, and parts replacement or repair as needed during the course.
