Course Overview

This comprehensive five-day program prepares new instructors to effectively teach patrol rifle skills and leadership within law enforcement environments. Participants will gain comprehensive instruction in instructor responsibilities and methodologies, along with practical range expertise covering coaching techniques, safety protocols, tactical drills, and advanced shooting scenarios.

Training Focus Areas

Range training emphasizes coaching skills, range procedures and commands, firearm safety, training culture, accuracy development, multiple threat engagement, tactical decision-making, movement while shooting, threat identification, low-light shooting, use of cover, malfunction clearing, and shooter diagnostics.

Equipment Requirements

Students must bring a patrol rifle with three magazines, duty belt or tactical vest with all issued equipment, body armor, flashlight, handcuffs with key, wraparound eye protection, ear protection, and a brimmed hat. Clothing should be suitable for training while resembling actual duty wear. A hydration system or water bottle is required. Participants should prepare for training in all weather conditions.
