Enfield Police Department

The Enfield Police Department consists of seven full-time officers and several part-time officers. Our Department embraces contemporary and progressive policing practices and is committed to meaningful community engagement and positive interactions with those we serve. We equip our officers with modern technology and equipment that are continually evaluated and upgraded to ensure we provide the highest level of service to our community.

Based on performance, experience, training, and departmental needs, officers may have the opportunity to participate in a variety of specialized assignments. These include the Special Operations Unit, Field Training Officer Program, Accident Reconstruction, Firearms and Use-of-Force Instruction, Rape Aggression Defense (R.A.D.) Program, Unmanned Aircraft Systems (drone) operations, and K-9 handling, among others.

Mission Statement

The purpose of the Enfield Police Department is to uphold the law fairly and firmly;to prevent crime;to pursue and bring to justice those who break the law;to keep the peace, to protect, help and reassure the community: and be seen to do wall this with integrity, common sense, and sound judgement.

We must be compassionate, courteous, and patient, acting without fear or favor or prejudice to the rights of others. We need to be professional, calm, and restrained in the face of violence and apply only that force which is necessary to accomplish our lawful duty.

We must strive to reduce the fears of the public and, so far as we can, to reflect their priorities in the action we take. We must respond to well-founded criticism with a willingness to change.

About Us

The Town of Enfield offers a diverse patrol area with a resident population of approximately 4,500+, with approximately 43 square miles. With in the town of Enfield sits Route 4, Route 4-A, and I-89, all major corridors for travel through the state. Enfield is also home to several lakes in the region. These lakes are seasonal tourist attractions all summer long boosting the population during this time. The Enfield Police Department is very active within the community and enjoys the support of the residents of Enfield.

Enfield is in located in the Heart of the Upper Valley just minutes away from shopping plaza’s and I-91 in Vermont, with a portion of I-89 in town and located approximately 15 minutes from Medical Center in Lebanon.
