Course Overview

This week-long training program represents an essential foundation for law enforcement personnel preparing to join or advance within a tactical team. The course combines multiple specialized modules designed to teach critical skills that require both technical proficiency and practical experience. Upon completion, graduates will have the fundamental competencies needed to transition toward operational roles and participate in advanced training with their respective agencies.

Training Components

The curriculum integrates the following four major modules:

  • Tactical Weapons Lab (8 hours): A comprehensive day of advanced marksmanship combined with dynamic shooting exercises to build proficiency before entering close-quarters combat scenarios.
  • Mechanical Breaching Procedures (4 hours): Instruction on safe and effective entry techniques, recognized as one of the most vital elements of tactical operations.
  • Introduction to Tactical Medicine (4 hours): Essential knowledge for providing life-saving care to fellow officers during critical situations.
  • Close Quarters Battle Fundamentals (24+ hours): In-depth training on current, effective CQB tactics and techniques used by leading tactical units.

Eligibility Requirements

This training is available to full-time law enforcement officers, reserve officers, corrections personnel, and active military security or law enforcement specialists. Prior assignment to a tactical team is not required for attendance.

Required Equipment and Supplies

Students must bring or obtain the following items:

  • Body armor (hard or soft plate)
  • Ballistic or impact-resistant helmet
  • Duty gun belt with holster
  • Service handgun with three magazines
  • AR/M4/M16 rifle with sling and three magazines
  • Eye and hearing protection
  • Gas mask or paintball mask
  • Force-on-Force protective equipment
  • 500 rounds of commercial handgun ammunition
  • 750 rounds of commercial rifle ammunition
  • Non-lethal training ammunition (NLTA) converted rifle with 500 rounds of 5.56 NLTA
  • NLTA converted handgun with 100 rounds of 9mm NLTA
