Location: Lansdale, PA 19446 (Montgomery County)
Date: December 9–11, 2026
Duration: 20 hours
Cost: $350.00
Course Overview
This training program equips Fire Investigators, Law Enforcement Investigators, Insurance Investigators, Private Investigators, Engineers, and Prosecutors with essential knowledge regarding fire patterns and their proper interpretation.
Course Content
Chemistry and Physics of Fire
Understanding fire origin determination requires integrating multiple data sources, including burn patterns, observations, and the underlying chemistry and physics of fire behavior. Participants will examine these fundamental principles to accurately identify the area of origin and potential causes of fires.
Identifying Fire Characteristics
Similar to criminal scene investigation, fire scenes contain distinctive identifying characteristics. This course covers what are commonly referred to as the "Fingerprints of Fire" and how to locate and evaluate them at a fire scene.
Fire Pattern Analysis
Fire patterns represent the visible or measurable physical effects remaining after a fire has occurred. The course focuses on validated fire pattern identification and interpretation methods used to establish fire origin and causation.
