Description:
Designed for first-line supervisors, this course provides students with a fundamental understanding of how leadership foundations and principles impact management and supervision. This course utilizes breakout team exercises to help students develop a true understanding of approaches and practices that drive motivation, employee buy-in, better communication, motivation, and positive morale.
Course Objectives:
- Differentiate between principles of management and leadership, including various leadership styles.
- Explain the five components of self-leadership (Pentagon of Self-Leadership).
- Demonstrate effective communication techniques and the proper method of giving orders.
- Describe the supervisor's role in training and maintaining operational readiness.
- Apply team-building strategies and techniques for leading up the chain of command.
- Evaluate the impact of employee evaluations on professional development.
- Assess the importance of positive leadership and its influence on team culture.
- Analyze key motivators that influence employee performance and engagement.
