Mandatory Human Trafficking Curriculum Update

The Connecticut Police Officer Standards and Training Council's Field Services Training Division, in collaboration with the Department of Children and Families (DCF) and the Department of Consumer Protection (DCP) Gaming Division, is offering a one-day seminar focused on providing instructors with updated human trafficking curriculum materials. The seminar is structured as a Train-the-Trainer (T-t-T) program and grants participants access to required instructional resources.

Attendance Requirements: All instructors who currently hold endorsements in Areas 514 (Gambling & Organized Crime) and 514A (Human Trafficking & Prostitution) are required to attend this training. Endorsed instructors who do not complete this training by April 1, 2027, will have their endorsements removed and will no longer be authorized to offer POST credits in these areas. Additionally, this seminar is the sole pathway through which new instructors may become certified to teach or obtain these endorsements.

Course Details: The training takes place at the Connecticut Police Academy, located at 285 Preston Avenue, Meriden, Connecticut 06450. Sessions run from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Class enrollment is capped at twenty-five (25) participants. This course carries no tuition fee; however, lunch must be arranged independently through local dining options. The POST In-Service training uniform dress code outlined in General Notice 23-02 applies to all participants. Training supervisors are expected to ensure assigned personnel comply with dress code requirements.

  • Tuesday, November 17, 2026 (Registration closes Tuesday, October 27, 2026)
