Mandatory Human Trafficking Curriculum Update

The Police Officer Standards and Training Council's Field Services Training Division is collaborating with the Department of Children and Families and the Department of Consumer Protection Gaming Division to deliver a one-day train-the-trainer seminar focused on human trafficking curriculum. Participants will gain access to all training materials required to instruct these critical topics to other officers.

Mandatory Attendance Requirement: All instructors currently holding endorsements in Areas 514 (Gambling & Organized Crime) and 514A (Human Trafficking & Prostitution) must complete this training. Endorsed instructors who do not attend by the April 1, 2027 deadline will have their endorsements removed from their instructor certification and will no longer be authorized to award POST credits in these areas. Additionally, this seminar is the sole pathway for new instructors to become certified to teach or obtain endorsements in these areas.

Training Details: The seminar takes place at the Connecticut Police Academy, located at 285 Preston Avenue, Meriden, Connecticut 06450. Sessions run from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM on the following dates: Wednesday, November 4, 2026 (registration closes October 14, 2026); Thursday, November 5, 2026 (registration closes October 15, 2026); Monday, November 9, 2026 (registration closes October 19, 2026); Thursday, November 12, 2026 (registration closes October 22, 2026); and Tuesday, November 17, 2026 (registration closes October 27, 2026). Class enrollment is capped at 25 participants. Prospective attendees must submit a registration form through the Acadis portal prior to the applicable closing date. For additional information, contact the Field Services Training Division at post.fieldservices@ct.gov.
