Human Trafficking Curriculum Update
Mandatory Human Trafficking Curriculum Update
The Police Officer Standards and Training Council's Field Services Training Division, in partnership with the Department of Children and Families (DCF) and the Department of Consumer Protection (DCP) Gaming Division, is offering a one-day seminar focused on updating instructors in human trafficking and organized crime topics. The training, titled "Mandatory Human Trafficking Curriculum Update Train-the-Trainer (T-t-T)," provides instructors with access to required curriculum materials for teaching these subjects.
This training is mandatory for all current instructors who hold endorsements in Areas 514 and 514A. Instructors with these endorsements who fail to attend by April 1, 2027, will have those endorsements removed from their instructor certification and will no longer be authorized to offer POST credits in these areas. The training also serves as the sole pathway for new instructors seeking to become certified to teach or add these endorsements.
The seminar takes place at the Connecticut Police Academy, located at 285 Preston Avenue, Meriden, 06450, operating from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Multiple session dates are available in November 2026, each with corresponding registration closing dates in October. Class size is capped at twenty-five attendees. Participants must register through the Acadis portal before the applicable closing date for their chosen session.
There is no tuition charge for this course. Attendees may purchase lunch at nearby restaurants. The uniform dress code specified in POST General Notice 23-02 applies to all in-service training and must be followed by all participants. Training supervisors are asked to ensure assigned personnel understand and comply with dress code requirements.
