Overview

This two-day course offers Patrol Officers, Detectives, and First Line Supervisors a thorough grounding in criminal procedure law, progressing from the initial police contact through to conviction. Participants will examine foundational criminal procedure principles, current case law developments, and their implications for the 4th, 5th, and 6th Amendments to the U.S. Constitution, as well as Articles 12 and 14 of the Massachusetts Declaration of Rights. The program also covers recent case law updates and common defenses to criminal charges. A hardcopy Criminal Procedure Guide (valued at $99) is included with enrollment.
