Program Overview
This eight-day intensive training program offers participants hands-on experience in conducting a complete narcotics investigation from start to finish. Trainees will work through informant interviews, employ both electronic and manual surveillance techniques, execute controlled buys using confidential informants, conduct buy-bust operations, prepare search warrant affidavits, and carry out the actual execution of a search warrant on a property using a comprehensive raid plan. Upon completion, students receive an extensive training manual containing sample raid plans, affidavit templates, informant contact documentation, and relevant case law specific to narcotics enforcement.
Departments are encouraged to explore funding opportunities through Byrne-JAG task force grants, Law Enforcement Trust Funds derived from seized drug assets, or community policing grant programs.
