Course Overview

Tactical Skills: Participants will develop proficiency in takedowns and control holds, proper handcuffing procedures for safe suspect restraint, striking techniques combined with weapon disarmament strategies, and ground control methods including submission locks for close-quarters encounters.
Modern Approach: The course eliminates ineffective wrist lock techniques in favor of accessible, straightforward solutions that officers can easily master and retain.
Critical Mindset Development: Instruction includes de-escalation strategies, body language interpretation, situational awareness enhancement, and threat identification related to weapon locations.
Instructor Training: Beyond teaching defensive techniques, the course develops instructional capabilities, enabling participants to effectively teach these methods to their own departments and personnel.
Certification Details
Successful completion results in a two-year certification demonstrating competence and knowledge. After two years, participants may pursue reduced-cost re-certification to maintain current credentials.

Cancellation Policy
Participants must provide a minimum of 15 days' notice before the course start date to cancel attendance without penalty. Cancellations made with fewer than 15 days' notice will result in a department credit applicable to future training within one year. No-shows without prior email notification will be charged the full course fee, though a one-year credit toward a different training event will be issued.
