Crypto Investigations Academy
Overview
This comprehensive five-day training program is designed to equip both new and experienced investigators with the critical competencies needed to effectively investigate and combat cryptocurrency-related crimes. The course delivers practical, hands-on instruction grounded in real-world law enforcement experience and contemporary investigative methodologies.
Course Content
The curriculum encompasses foundational blockchain technology principles, practical techniques for tracing cryptocurrency transactions, and instruction on advanced forensic tools including access to trial commercial licenses. Participants will explore key subject areas including cryptocurrency money laundering patterns, wallet management and custody procedures, the legal framework for obtaining VASP (Virtual Asset Service Provider) records, and both technical and legal strategies for successfully prosecuting cryptocurrency crimes and recovering assets through seizure or forfeiture mechanisms.
Learning Experience
The course combines interactive classroom instruction with practical exercises and examination of authentic case studies drawn from law enforcement experience. A culminating mock investigation brings together the skills and knowledge developed throughout the program. Participants are encouraged to bring real cases from their own jurisdictions to benefit from expert guidance and develop actionable investigative strategies.
Prerequisites
No prior experience or prerequisite knowledge is required to enroll in this course.
Schedule and Duration
The course runs for five days with hours from 08:00 to 17:00 daily. Multiple locations and dates are offered throughout 2026 and 2027, including venues in Bismarck ND, Myrtle Beach SC, St. Augustine FL, Hollywood FL, Victoria TX, and Clearwater Beach FL.
