This comprehensive training program is tailored for personnel new to internal affairs roles as well as seasoned professionals seeking to enhance their expertise. The course accommodates civilian investigators and agency leaders who wish to deepen their understanding of proper internal affairs investigation procedures. It provides a model procedures framework applicable to public safety agencies of all sizes.

Upon completing this 40-hour course, participants will possess the investigative skills and legal knowledge required to conduct internal affairs investigations effectively. This includes competency in handling cases involving criminal conduct and officer-involved shooting incidents.

The curriculum guides attendees methodically through conducting impartial, comprehensive administrative investigations with professional standards. Specialized instruction covers investigative approaches for allegations of sexual harassment and hostile work environments.

This course serves sworn and non-sworn law enforcement professionals working in administrative and internal affairs capacities, professional standards divisions, law enforcement and public safety administrators, and human resources or municipal/county personnel managers overseeing law enforcement agency staffing.
