Police Internal Affairs

This extensive training program is tailored for newly assigned internal affairs officers and supervisors, experienced investigators seeking skills enhancement, civilian internal affairs investigators, and administrators or managers responsible for overseeing internal affairs operations. The course applies a model procedures framework suitable for public safety agencies of all sizes, from small departments to large metropolitan organizations.

Through this 40-hour program, participants will develop the investigative expertise and legal knowledge required to conduct effective internal affairs investigations. The curriculum addresses administrative and criminal investigations, with special focus on officer-involved shooting cases and in-custody death matters. Attendees will gain proficiency in specialized interview techniques and learn to conduct thorough, objective inquiries involving complainants, witnesses, and accused personnel.
