This 80-hour course serves as the first in a three-course series and provides participants with essential competencies for conducting comprehensive traffic crash investigations and documenting findings suitable for courtroom use.
Course Content
The program covers proper methodologies for measuring, creating scale diagrams, and capturing photographs to document physical evidence and critical information present exclusively at the crash scene. Participants will gain understanding of fundamental mathematical, physics, and engineering concepts applicable to traffic crash investigations, including the specific equations required for different crash scenarios. The course emphasizes analytical skills to reconstruct events before, during, and after a collision.

For Florida law enforcement officers, successful completion of this course does not qualify for Salary Incentive Credit for the FDLE course "Traffic Homicide Investigation."
