Course Overview

This is the first course in a three-part series designed to develop investigative competencies in traffic crash analysis and documentation. Participants will gain comprehensive knowledge and practical skills necessary to execute detailed investigations at crash scenes and prepare findings suitable for court proceedings.

Course Content

The program focuses on proper techniques for measuring, creating scale diagrams, and capturing photographic evidence to document physical evidence and critical information present at the scene. Participants will study the fundamentals of mathematics, physics, and engineering principles applicable to crash investigations, learning the appropriate mathematical formulas for various crash scenarios. The course emphasizes evidence analysis to reconstruct what occurred before, during, and after the collision.

Course Fee: $1,195.00

Important Note: This course does not qualify for Salary Incentive Credit for Florida officers under the FDLE "Traffic Homicide Investigation" designation.

Series Information

This is the first course in a three-course sequence. The second course is Advanced Traffic Crash Investigation, followed by Traffic Crash Reconstruction as the third course.
