Homicide Investigation

This comprehensive 40-hour course is designed for law enforcement professionals at all levels—from first responders to seasoned investigators—who need to develop proficiency in managing homicide cases. Participants will acquire practical knowledge and investigative expertise to handle complex homicide situations with thoroughness and professionalism.

The curriculum covers a broad spectrum of homicide scenarios and appropriate investigative methodologies for each. Attendees will master systematic procedures for managing crime scenes, including proper approach protocols, thorough documentation, and evidence preservation. The course emphasizes how modern forensic science and advanced technology can strengthen investigations.

In addition to crime scene management, this training addresses criminal personality assessment, interrogation strategies, and effective communication with media representatives during death investigations.

Intended Audience:

This course is appropriate for patrol officers, newly assigned and experienced detectives, investigations supervisors, crime scene technicians, medical examiner and coroner investigators, and military investigative personnel. Enrollment is restricted to sworn law enforcement officers and personnel directly assigned to law enforcement agencies.
