This comprehensive training explores the psychology, methods, and impact of homicidal behavior through an in-depth examination of criminal perpetrators and their victims. The course examines the demographic profiles and psychological motivations that drive individuals to commit murder, the instruments and methods employed in these crimes, and how offenders dispose of remains.

Participants will develop an understanding of key distinctions between expressive and instrumental killings, as well as the Federal Bureau of Investigation's classifications of organized and disorganized criminal behavior. The program addresses serial and non-serial homicide offenders, emphasizing how to distinguish these different criminal categories.

The course covers critical investigative concepts including modus operandi and signature crime characteristics. Geoprofiling techniques will be discussed as tools for determining an offender's likely residential location and predicting where victims' remains may be located. Students will learn the fundamentals of criminal profiling methodology to identify and narrow suspect lists, along with victimology analysis and femicide investigations.

A significant focus includes comparative analysis of homicidal behavior across demographic lines. Participants will examine real-world criminal cases to understand how investigative and forensic strategies are applied in actual investigations.
