Property and Evidence Room Management
This comprehensive 16-hour course equips law enforcement professionals with the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively manage property and evidence facilities from initial collection through courtroom presentation and final disposition. Participants will gain expertise in maintaining the security and integrity of evidence while learning proper documentation, inventory control, disposal, and purging procedures for all types of evidence.
The course curriculum addresses both the practical and legal dimensions of evidence room management. Instruction covers physical security measures for evidence storage facilities, the policies and procedures essential to sound evidence operations, and the legal framework governing such facilities. Participants will explore OSHA compliance requirements, evidence packaging standards for both storage and testing submission, and various storage solutions tailored to different evidence types.
