The course equips learners with the knowledge and skills to perform sophisticated forensic recovery and analysis of mobile application data using the Inseyets platform.
Who This Course Is For
This course is intended for advanced mobile forensic professionals focused on in-depth application data analysis, examiners responsible for handling complex mobile forensic investigations, and teams preparing to pursue the Cellebrite Certified Mobile Examiner (CCME) Inseyets capstone credential.
Course Content
Participants will study the following topics throughout the five-day program:
- Advanced forensic recovery and analysis of mobile application data
- Deep analysis of Android and iOS extractions using Inseyets Physical Analyzer (PA)
- SQLite database exploration and advanced search techniques
- Decoding unsupported and partially decoded application data
- Pattern-of-life analysis across mobile artifacts
- Validation of findings using forensic best practices
- Use of third-party, open-source tools and Python scripting to extend analysis capabilities
Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion, participants will be able to analyze mobile extractions using Inseyets Physical Analyzer, interpret Android and iOS file system structures and data artifacts, inspect SQLite databases and employ SQL to filter and sort data, identify and interpret unsupported or partially decoded data, decode unsupported applications using SQL Builder techniques, apply Python fundamentals to assist with data interpretation, perform pattern-of-life analysis to support investigative findings, and validate analysis results to support defensible forensic conclusions.
Prerequisites and Recommendations
While there are no formal prerequisites, it is recommended that participants complete the Cellebrite Certified Physical Analyst (CCPA) course prior to enrollment. Familiarity with Inseyets Physical Analyzer is strongly recommended.
Certification Information
CASA Inseyets does not function as a standalone certification. Rather, it serves as the final required course in the Cellebrite Certified Mobile Examiner (CCME) Inseyets pathway. The complete CCME pathway requires successful completion of three courses: Cellebrite Certified Operator for Inseyets (CCO), Cellebrite Certified Physical Analyst for Inseyets (CCPA), and Cellebrite Advanced Smartphone Analysis with Inseyets (CASA).
Primary Tools
This course utilizes Inseyets Physical Analyzer (PA) for advanced forensic analysis and validation, SQLite database views for deep database inspection and recovery, and advanced search and examination tools within the PA platform.
Course Format
In-person and virtual course options include required self-paced pre-work that must be completed before the class begins. All pre-work content is included in the final examination.
