Pedestrian and bicycle collisions represent a significant portion of injurious traffic incidents in metropolitan environments. Due to their particular characteristics, specialized investigative and reconstruction methodologies are essential.

This comprehensive program explores the distinctive dynamics associated with pedestrian and bicycle traffic collisions. Participants will develop competency in recognizing and evaluating physical evidence, interpreting findings, and establishing connections between evidence and the sequence of events that occurred during the collision. The curriculum addresses reaction time considerations, victim injury assessment, and environmental influences on crash outcomes.

Target Audience

This training is designed for law enforcement and private traffic crash investigators, claims adjusters, engineers, legal professionals, safety officers, military investigative personnel, animators, and graphic designers. Florida sworn law enforcement personnel may access grant-funded enrollment opportunities through FDOT; however, federal and military law enforcement personnel stationed in Florida do not qualify for these funded seats.

Prerequisites

Completion of IPTM's Advanced Traffic Crash Investigation course or equivalent training is required prior to enrollment.

Materials Required

Participants should bring a scientific calculator to the course.
