Overview:

This specialized training program combines physical surveillance techniques with historic cell record analysis to give law enforcement professionals advanced investigative tools. Participants will develop proficiency in gathering, analyzing, and interpreting data from both physical observations and cellular records to strengthen criminal investigations and support prosecution efforts.

• Physical Surveillance Fundamentals: Learn foundational physical surveillance methods, contemporary surveillance technology integration, pre-operation data analysis, GPS tracking systems, footer operations, and implementation of situational awareness applications including ITAK/ATAK for modern surveillance operations
• Case Development Strategy: Develop investigative mindsets for surveillance operations, combine physical observations with cellular data to identify co-conspirators, locate vehicles involved in violent crimes, and gather evidence necessary for successful court proceedings
• Cell Record Analysis Basics: Gain an introductory understanding of cellular technology, call detail records (CDRs), and their application in precision targeting with extended range pings; participants will create their own analytical playbooks using CASTVIZ, the FBI's free analysis tool
• Data Integration Methods: Master techniques for correlating street-level physical observations with historical cellular data to develop actionable intelligence and operation packages
• Practical Application: Study real-world violent crime operations where active teams locate suspects and build court-admissible evidence through surveillance methods when confidential informants are unavailable
