Mobile Device Investigations
This comprehensive three-day training program equips criminal justice professionals with practical knowledge and skills in cellular device investigations. Participants will gain expertise in current methodologies and techniques applicable to any investigative scenario involving mobile devices, from minor offenses to serious crimes.
Course Overview
The training covers essential topics including strategies for engaging with various cellular network providers, developing and executing technology-focused search warrants, interpreting cellular provider call data records, correlating obtained data with investigative objectives, and implementing effective case documentation and reporting procedures.
Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this training, participants will be able to:
- Identify and apply methods for collecting evidence from cellular network service providers
- Understand and implement procedures for obtaining cellular device search warrants during investigative work
- Access and retrieve evidence from cellular network service providers
- Develop comprehensive investigative strategies utilizing cellular data and reports
- Extract data from various types of cellular devices
- Properly document, organize, and present evidence for case preparation and court proceedings

Eligibility
This training is restricted to law enforcement professionals, prosecution officials, and related court system personnel only.
Instructor
Andrew Vallee – Senior Special Agent, Tennessee Bureau of Investigation – Cellular Analysis Survey Team, Nashville, TN. Senior Special Agent Vallee is an expert in electronic surveillance, cellular network engineering, radio frequency surveys, and communications data analysis. A law enforcement officer since 2000 and certified instructor since 2004, he has provided expert testimony in numerous local, state, and federal proceedings and has been instructing Mobile Device Investigations courses through the National Criminal Justice Training Center since 2012.
