This comprehensive course is designed for professionals who need to develop expertise in investigating pedestrian and bicycle traffic collisions. These types of crashes represent a significant portion of injurious incidents in urban environments and demand specialized investigation and reconstruction methodologies.
Throughout this 40-hour program, participants will examine the distinctive dynamics inherent to pedestrian and bicycle crashes. The curriculum emphasizes the critical skills needed to identify, interpret, and analyze evidence while connecting findings to the overall sequence of events that led to the collision. Key focus areas include reaction times, victim injury patterns, and environmental conditions that influence crash outcomes.

Prerequisite: Completion of IPTM's Advanced Traffic Crash Investigation course or equivalent training is required for enrollment.
Required Materials: Participants must bring a scientific calculator.

Grant-funded seats through FDOT are available exclusively to Florida sworn law enforcement officers. Federal and military law enforcement personnel operating in Florida are not eligible for this funding.
