Course Overview
This intensive four-day program provides comprehensive training on cellular phone data analysis and investigation techniques. Participants will explore the types of information commonly obtained during criminal investigations and develop proficiency in working with cellular records and related data sources. The curriculum incorporates over twenty-five hands-on exercises distributed throughout the four-day period to reinforce learning and skill development.
Course Content
Day 1: An introduction to the tools and resources available to law enforcement professionals conducting investigations. Participants will learn about cellular technology fundamentals, relevant terminology, and the evolution of cellular systems. The course introduces CellHawk software, a platform used for analyzing call detail records and evaluating various data sources collected during investigations.
Day 2: Participants will work with authentic call detail records (CDRs) obtained from major cellular service providers including AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, and US Cellular. Training covers techniques for interpreting these records and understanding the investigative value contained within them.
