Tele-Communicator/Dispatcher - PART-TIME/ Per Diem

Position Title: Certified Civilian Tele-Communicator/Dispatcher

Position Available: Part Time/ Per Diem

Salary Range:

  • Part Time/Per Diem $23.00 to $25.00 per hour 

The Township of Hillside Police Department is accepting applications for the position of a Civilian Tele-Communicator/Dispatcher. Completed applications must be received through PoliceApp.com.

MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED TO PERFORM ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

High school or GED diploma. Successful completion of the Department’s background check. It is preferred the candidate is certified for 911, however we will provide training. Must be able to multi-task in a fast paced environment. Proficiency with computers is a must.  Must be willing to work a rotating schedule (12 hour shifts), including nights, weekends and holidays.

POSITION PURPOSE:

A telecommunicator takes emergency and non-emergency calls and dispatches public safety personnel for law enforcement, fire services and emergency medical services.
