FULL TIME POLICE OFFICER
The Hackensack Police Department is currently accepting resumes for the position of full-time Police Officer in accordance with the New Jersey Civil Service Commission's (CSC) Intergovernmental Transfer Program (ITP).
In accordance with the ITP program, applicants must currently be employed as a sworn officer in a New Jersey Civil Service law enforcement police agency (Not Corrections) and their agency must be willing to approve the transfer. Applicants must have graduated from a New Jersey PTC certified law enforcement academy and be in possession of a New Jersey Police Training Commission certificate.
Applicants will be subject to an extensive background investigation including the review of all employment records. Applicants must also submit to and pass both a medical and psychological evaluation. The Hackensack Police Department is an accredited agency. Patrol Officers work a 4 day on 4 day off schedule with 12 hour shifts.
