The Matawan Police Department is responsible for providing 24 hour police services to the residents, businesses and visitors to the 2.4 square mile borough located in northern Monmouth County, New Jersey.  The Department, commanded by Chief Thomas J. Falco, is staffed by twenty one sworn officers, two Class II Special Law Enforcement Officers, one Records Clerk, eight School Crossing Guards and two Police Matrons.  In addition to serving the residents and businesses of the Borough, the Department serves several thousand commuters daily who depart and arrive at the adjacent Aberdeen-Matawan Train Station, the busiest station on New Jersey Transit’s North Jersey Coast Line.
