The Montague Police Department consists of 18 full-time officers. We have the Chief, Lieutenant, Staff Sergeant, (4) Sergeants, two School Resource Officers-one with comfort dog K-9 Mac. We also have 3 detectives & Artie patrol K-9.

Mission Statement

The mission of the Montague Police Department is to provide professional, knowledgeable, and equitable police services to ensure and promote the safety, well-being and quality of life of all people, while maintaining the highest levels of integrity, transparency, fairness and mutual respect with the community. The members of the Police, Dispatch and Animal control Departments take great pride in this solemn responsibility and will continue to strive for nothing less than excellence in our partnership with the community we serve.

About Us

The Town of Montague is located in Franklin County and is the second largest Town next to Greenfield. Our Town is made up of 5 very distinct villages, Turners Falls is the largest with the highest population. We also have the villages of Montague Center, Lake Pleasant, Montague City and Millers Falls. We border The Connecticut River and the Town of Greenfield.
