ABOUT US

The Lititz Borough Police Department is progressive police department located in Northern Lancaster County.  The Borough is approximately 2.5 square miles and has a resident population of just under 10,000 people.  Lititz is home to many special events which attract crowds from all over the country.  These special events can attract crowds of over 50,000 people per event.  Lititz is a vibrant community comprised of residential, commercial and retail occupancies and was voted "America's Coolest Small Town" in 2013.  The Department is comprised of an Administrative Function, Patrol Function, Criminal Investigation Function, SRO Function and Community Services Function. The 2018 staffing arrangement is anticipated to be 15 sworn officers and 4 civilian support employees.  The Department has members of specialized multi-jurisdictional functions such as a Drug Recognition Expert (DRE), Special Emergency Response Team (SERT), Joint Collision Reconstruction Team, Lancaster County Forensics Team and the South Central Task Force (SCTF).  The Department's service call volume for 2016 was just under 7,000 events (Lancaster County-Wide Communications).  The Department is one of only three municipal police agencies in Lancaster County to be fully PLEAC Accredited by the Pennsylvania Chiefs of Police Association (PCPA).
