Salary/Benefits
Salary Range Depending on Experience & Education: $66,475 - $99,392

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be a minimum of age 21
- High School Diploma (College Preferred)
- MA POST Certified Officers (or out of state equivalent) Preferred
- Ability to pass several phases of hiring process including interview, extensive background investigation, medical & psychological evaluations
- Persons applying shall be of good moral character
- Shall not have a criminal record or serious motor vehicle record
JOB DESCRIPTION:
A patrol officer shall be responsible for the efficient performance of required duties in conformance with the rules, regulations, policies and procedures of the Weston Police Department.
The duties of an officer shall consist of, but are not limited to, a number of general police responsibilities necessary to the stability and safety of the community. A patrol officer is expected to:
- Identify criminal offenders and criminal activity and, where appropriate, apprehend offenders and participate in subsequent court proceedings;
- Reduce the opportunities for the commission of crime through preventive patrol and other measures;
- Assist individuals who are in danger of physical harm.;
- Facilitate the movement of vehicular and pedestrian traffic;
- Create and maintain a feeling of safety in the community;
- Promote and preserve the peace;
- Provide other services on an emergency basis;
- Perform other duties as required by the Chief of Police.
