POLICE OFFICER — ENTRY LEVEL, CERTIFIED & NON-CERTIFIED
The West Amwell Township Police Department is now accepting applications for the position of Police Officer.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Be at least 18 years of age
Citizen of the United States and resident of the State of New Jersey
Be at least a high school graduate or have earned a General Educational Development (GED) diploma
Is the holder of a driver’s license that is valid in New Jersey
Received an honorable discharge from military service, if applicant served
Able to otherwise meet all requirements of N.J.S.A. 40A:14-122 to 40A:14-127.1
Must become licensed as a law enforcement officer in accordance with N.J.S.A. 52:17B-71a et seq., and N.J.A.C. 13:1 et seq.
HIRING PROCESS
Initial application
Department interview
Pre-academy physical fitness assessment (as required by N.J.A.C. 12:1-10.7)
Background investigation in accordance with N.J.A.C. 13:1-10.3
Police committee interview
Conditional offer of employment
Medical screening (N.J.A.C. 13:1-10.4)
Drug screening (N.J.A.C. 13:1-10.5)
Psychological screening (N.J.A.C. 13:1-8.1(e) or 10.6)
