- Valid new Jersey Police Training Commission (PTC) certification
- Must be a New Jersey resident at time of appointment
- Must be of good moral character, with no criminal convictions or conduct that would negatively reflect on suitability for the position
- Ability to successfully pass a psychological evaluation, medical examination, and drug screening
- Ability to successfully pass a comprehensive background investigation
Job Description/General Duties:
A detective with the Warren County Prosecutor's Office is primarily responsible for investigating serious crimes, gathering evidence, interviewing witnesses and suspects, executing search and arrest warrants, making arrests, and assisting prosecutors in preparing criminal cases for court. The office's overall mission is to detect, arrest, and prosecute offenders, while also supporting local police departments with major investigations and serious crimes.

The Warren County Prosecutor's Office consists of the following investigative units: Cyber Crimes, Major Crimes, Narcotics, and Special Victims. The Office coordinates several specialized regional teams throughout Warren County, they are; the Child Abduction Response Team (CART), Crisis Negotiation Team (CNT), Crime Scene Investigation (CSI), Serious Collision Analysis Response Team (SCART), Tactical Response Team (TRT), and drone operators.
