Ventnor City Police Department – Full-Time Police Officer

The Ventnor City Police Department is currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of Full-Time Police Officer.

At this time, the department is accepting applications from the following categories of applicants only:

Eligible Applicants

  • 1. New Jersey Civil Service Intergovernmental Transfer Program
    • Applicants must currently be employed as a full-time police officer with a New Jersey Civil Service law enforcement agency and be eligible for transfer under the New Jersey Civil Service Intergovernmental Transfer Program.
  • 2. New Jersey Special Law Enforcement Officer Class II (SLEO II)
    • Applicants who currently hold a New Jersey SLEO Class II certification and who successfully completed a commingled police academy that qualifies them to be waivered to a full-time police officer position are also invited to apply.

Minimum Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and a resident of New Jersey
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must possess a High School Diploma or State Certified G.E.D.
  • Must be able to read and write the English language proficiently
  • Must have no criminal record
  • Must be of sound moral character
  • Must have a New Jersey Driver's License
