NOW HIRING LATERAL APPLICANT POLICE OFFICERS
The Hobart Police Department is now accepting applications.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Must be at Least 20 years of age to apply and 21 years of age on date of appointment and no more 39 years age unless already a member of 1977 Indiana Public Employee Retirement Fund (PERF).
Must be Indiana Law Enforcement Academy (ILEA) certified or other certified POST academy which is recognized by ILEA
Hold a high school diploma or GED
Be a United States Citizen
Possess a valid driver's license
Have no prior felony or Domestic violence convictions
- SALARY
Starting Salary: $58,905
Salary after FTO: $90,000 (2027)
PERF Retirement Rate $110,000 (2027)
Longevity Pay $1,000/yr of service or max of $20,000/yr after 20 years
Longevity credit for Lateral Applicants with Full-time experience up to 10 years max

12 Hour Shifts (every other weekend off)
Vacation Time - 2wks After Hire (Jan 2027), 3wks after 5yrs, 4wks after 10yrs and 5wks after 15yrs.
