CAMPTON, NH POLICE DEPARTMENT
Full-Time Police Officer (Certified)
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
NH Police Officer Certification (Full or Part-Time) or Out of State Certification Equivalent
Candidates must pass a psychological exam, medical physical, as well as an extensive background investigation
JOB DESCRIPTION/GENERAL DUTIES:
Campton Police Officers perform highly responsible and visible work in law enforcement to preserve the peace, protect persons and property in the community, and enforce federal and state laws, and local ordinances and by-laws.
SALARY & BENEFITS:
The salary range for certified applicants is $52,686 - $63,272 depending on experience and qualifications. Employees receive a benefits package to include 13 paid holidays, vacation leave, accrued sick leave, personal leave, merit pay, and enrollment in the NH Retirement System. Employees are offered a choice of health insurance plans with either 93% or 85% of the monthly premium covered by the Town. Employees who are covered by another health insurance plan receive an additional $5,100 annually. Officers work four 10.5-hour shifts with three days off a week. |
ABOUT CAMPTON POLICE DEPARTMENT:
The Police Department is currently comprised of 7 full-time officers, a full-time prosecuting attorney, and administrative staff. Located along Interstate 93 at the foothills of the White Mountains our officers work rotating shifts and provide 24-hour coverage to approximately 3,300 full-time residents with an increase of population during tourist seasons.
The Police Department is proud to have a contemporary grooming and tattoo policy that allows visible tattoos above the wrist and below the neck and beards to be worn year-round. Officer health is also paramount and officers are equipped to patrol with load bearing external vests.
