Bensalem Township is an area of 21 square miles which is located between Philadelphia on the south and Bucks County on the northeast. Four major arteries travel through Bensalem including Interstate 95, U.S. Route 13, U.S. Route 1, and the Pennsylvania Turnpike. Our population from the 2010 census is 60,427 however, there is an estimated 250,000 daytime business population. The Bensalem Township Police Department provides a full range of police services on a 24-hour a day basis to both residents, business people, and visitors. We are home to Parx Casino as well as the Neshaminy Mall. Bensalem Township has 17 hotels and motels with over 1900 rooms and 37 apartment complexes with 7,962 units.

The Bensalem Police Department provides all aspects of law enforcement/police services to our community. The police department is mainly comprised of Patrol, Criminal Investigations, and Special Investigations. The department also has SWAT, K-9, Motor Patrol Officers, Honor Guard, Drone (UAV) and other units commonly found in a police department.

The Bensalem Police Department is accredited by the Pennsylvania Law Enforcement Accreditation Commission (PLEAC) and is nationally accredited through the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA).
