ABOUT OUR DEPARTMENT

The Argyle Police Department strives to maintain the highest standards in all aspects of our operations.   From the outstanding relationships we build with community members to the purposeful way in which we train and enrich our officers, we seek to stand apart in all things we do.  The Argyle Police Department is an accredited law enforcement Agency through the Texas Police Chiefs Association Foundation Best Practices Recognition Program. This program evaluates our Department's compliance with over 165 best business practices for Texas law enforcement. These best practices cover all aspects of law enforcement operations including use of force, protection of citizen rights, vehicle pursuits, property and evidence management, and patrol operations.

COMMUNITY POLICING

We understand that community policing is not a program, an initiative, or a specialized unit within our department; we actively work to maintain an intimate knowledge of the people and businesses we serve, and we specifically seek out individuals who understand this mission in our hiring.  Though we know that we exist to aggressively pursue law violators, the Argyle Police Department strives to create a safe and secure community through tactics that establish and maintain our legitimacy in the eyes of the public.

Our philosophy is that the most vital thing we do every day is to solve the problem of those who seek us out for help, so we listen to what individuals have to say and respond accordingly in order to address complaints and seek out long-term solutions to neighborhood problems and potential issues.  The voters of Argyle have overwhelmingly approved and thus supported the establishment of the Argyle Crime Control and Prevention District which provides additional financial support to further ensure that our Department remains one of the best equipped, first-in-class police departments of our size.

We also understand that the men and women of the Argyle Police Department are the most important resource we have.   With this in mind, our department places the utmost value on family, both in and out of uniform.   We expect our officers to give their best while they are at work, so we place their physical, mental, and spiritual well-being at the top of our priority list.
